Tina's Hat

One of my students, Tina, was telling me that she bought this hat that she just loved and want to make one identical for her little niece. The most attractive part of the hat aside from the color change is the flower and I know she wants to learn to make the flower to go on everything... :)

Well, here's the (adult hat) pattern for you:

Flower
Magic Ring - 6sc
R1 Ch3, 2dc into the center, ch 8, *3dc into center, ch 8*, repeat 4 times
Change color
R2 Ch 1, *(in the ch space) sc, hdc, 6dc, hdc, sc, slip at the end*, repeat for each petal
Sew it at the bottom row of the hat

Hat
Magic Ring - 12sc
R1 Ch3, 11hdc into the center (12 sts)
R2 (back loops only) 2hdc per st all around (24 sts)
R3 *2 hdc the next stitch, 1 hdc*, all around (36 sts)
R4 *2 hdc the next, 2 hdc*, all around (48 sts)
R5 *2 hdc the next, 3 hdc*, all around (60 sts)
R6 - 12 hdc all around
change color
R13 *2 sc the next, 4 sc*, all around
R14 *2 sc the next, 5 sc*, all around
R15 *2 sc the next, 5 sc*, all around
R16 sc all around, slip st the very end

Enjoy!
